Night Wake Ups
My son who is currently eight months and has been sleeping through the night woke up at 3am last night. Worst thing ever. It’s one thing when we as parents are used to the night wake ups but when they occur again out of no where it makes it that much more frustrating. So what did I do at 3am when I was awoken to baby cries. I laid in bed for five minutes to see if he would settle back down and then went to get him. Once in his room I noticed he had lost his pacifier so I tried to give that back and see if it would help. The second I put it back into his mouth I could hear him sucking loudly on it. That was my cue that he needed to eat.
I know from hearing this story I will have people saying I am ruining his routine and setting him up for regression but I truly believe that each baby is different and needs different things at different times. At this time my little one needed that night time feeding again.
I share this story because I have heard horror stories from individuals who have previously hired a sleep consultant because they did not feel like they were treated as individuals and were expected to sleep train in a one size fits all fashion. I truly do not believe that is the case, each family is different and has different needs. I want you as a client to feel comfortable sharing those needs with me and telling me if something isn’t working. We are a team with the same end goal of helping your family get the sleep they need.
So with this said I hope if you are hesitant to hire a sleep consultant due to negative reviews or stories you have heard you feel comfortable reaching out to me and seeing if a relationship to accomplish our goals would be beneficial. Sleep training is hard and I want to be there for your family to offer empathy, encouragement and support though this process.
